Mission Statement
The aim of the
Childrens Services is to make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families by creating a co-ordinated multi-agency
approach to family breakdown and bullying.
What is Bullying?
Evidence shows that bullying can be:
- Physical- pushing, kicking, hitting or any other form of violence or threats.
- Verbal- name calling, teasing, spreading rumours
- Emotional- humiliation, tormenting, threatening gestures
- Racist- racial taunts or gestures
- Sexual- abusive comments, unwanted physical contact and homophobic abuse
Persistent bullying in schools can result in:
- Low Self Esteem
- Depression
- Isolation
- Poor academic achievement
- Suicide threats or attempts
