Mission Statment

The aim of the Anti Bullying Service is to make a diffrence to the lives of children,

young people and their families by creating a co-ordinated multi agency approch to bullying.

 

What is Bullying?

Evidence shows that bullying can be:

      • Physical- pushing, kicking, hitting or any other form of violence or threats.
      • Verbal- name calling, teasing, spreading rumours
      • Emotional- humiliation, tormenting, threatening gestures
      • Racist- racial taunts or gestures
      • Sexual- abusive comments, unwanted physical contact and homophobic abuse

Persistent bullying in schools can result in:

      • Low Self Esteem
      • Depression
      • Isolation
      • Poor academic achievement
      • Suicide threats or attempts
